A refresher workshop for anyone who is familiar with the basics and wants to get back on a sewing machine. If you know how to wind a bobbin and thread a machine but could also use a reminder on all the rest (and possibly also winding a bobbin and threading a machine), this workshop is for you!
During this class, we'll run through all the essentials for sewing on a machine and will then move on to sewing your own origami bag to take away (fabric choices for the final project included but you are also welcome to bring your own if you would prefer).
This class is aimed at anyone who has had some previous sewing experience and will understand basic sewing terminology-don't worry if you feel rusty, there will be a refresher all on the basic stitches before we progress on to the final project, the workshop is just aimed at people who will be more comfortable on the machine than an absolute beginner.
There's no need to have your own machine as these will be provided-with the option to bring your own too.
Class sizes are small to ensure good one on one time. I will provide all the equipment needed for the class along with all the fabric for the samples and the origami bag.
Course content includes:
Run through of threading machine and winding bobbin
Reminder of basic stitches
Edge and top stitching practice
Sewing corners
Basic seam finishes
Sewing of lined origami bag with handle
Where to find my studio: I am located at Rogart Street Campus where ample free parking is available. Bridgeton train station is close-by and Bellgrove train station is a 5-10 minute walk away. I am also about a 20 minute walk from Glasgow city centre.
Cancellation Policy:
Workshops are non-refundable if cancelled with less than three week's notice. If you are unable to make a course you have signed up for, I will transfer you to another date where possible-although I am unable to guarantee this.
